members of Team Mossman Tokeneke Racing and the Cafeteros Cycling Club,
oursincere thanks for volunteering your time at the Tokeneke Classic
Road
Race this Sunday, August 9.
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
- GENERAL VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS
- Directions to the race at http://www.tokenekeclassic.com/generalinformation.html#Directions
- If you have the chance, please print and sign the Volunteer
Release Form (Adobe Acrobat .pdf)
- If you are racing in the morning, please park in
the racers parking field - Berg Field.
- If you are arriving
in the late morning for your afternoon marshal assignment, you may park
in the race staging area if there is room, otherwise, please
park
in Berg Field.
- Always be very wary around cyclists and racers
still on the course. There is also a path to the staging area (Hartland
Town Hall) from Berg field that you may want to use.
- After the morning races, a lunch
will be provided to volunteers in the registration area.
- DRIVERS
- Drivers will receive (or have received) a message from
Robin Myers, the organizer of drivers for the event.
- MARSHALS
- Examine the listing below to verify that your assignment
is correct. Please let me know ASAP if it is not.
- Map

- MORNING - be there before 8:10am
- When you arrive, please park in the race
staging area before 8:10AM.
- Marshall
meeting in the registration area at 8:25 for an orientation to
be
led by be led by Rick Comshaw, USA Head Official, and Mike Baril, MA
Safety Director. During this meeting, we expect to pass out
written marshal instruction
materials and location assignments along with race marshal T-shirts.
- By
approximately 8:45, race marshals will depart to their designated
sites. Be certain to park legally and safely at your site, with your
car off the race course.
- After the race when you return
with your cars, you will probably need to park at Berg Field.
But,
be very careful around cyclists along the course and near the parking
areas.
- Please report to
race directors Tom Coleman or Jack Mullen and/or to the MA Safety
official any issues or safety concerns that may have arisen while you
were marshaling.
- AFTERNOON - be there before 12:10pm
- Marshall
meeting in the registration area at 12:10 for an orientation to be led
by Rick Comshaw, USA Head Official, and Mike Baril, MA Safety Director.
During this meeting, we expect to
pass out written marshal instruction materials and location assignments
along with race marshal T-shirts.
- By approximately 12:30, race marshals will depart to
their designated sites.
- Please report to
race directors Tom Coleman or Jack Mullen and/or to the MA Safety
official any issues or safety concerns that may have arisen while you
were marshaling.
We might also need a little help in the parking area, but not
from many of you and this would not be for long.
Once
again, on behalf of Tokeneke Classic Road Race directors, members of
Team Mossman Tokeneke Racing and the Cafeteros Cycling Club, sincere
thanks for volunteering your time. Your participation is vital to all
of us organizing this exciting event, and to ensure that the race is a
safe and fun experience for all competitors. As you know, amateur
bicycle racing cannot exist without the support of volunteers such as
yourself, so everyone involved with this event very much appreciates
your efforts.
Each of us involved in race planning are personally grateful
to you. We do hope that you enjoy the Tokeneke Classic Road Race.
